Marc Connelly - (1890 - 1980)

The only member of the Round Table from a theatrical family, Marc Connelly worked as a reporter until he began collaborating with George S. Kaufman on the play Dulcy, which introduced Lynne Fontanne to Broadway. His most famous play is Green Pastures, which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1930, the same year his story "Coroner's Image" won the O. Henry short story prize. He also appeared in films and television and directed a number of Broadway plays.

Connelly's baldness occasioned this comment: "Your head feels like my wife's behind." Without missing a beat, Connelly stroked his head and responded, "So it does."
